Dieter Wöstenberg

Dieter Wöstenberg (born February 23, 1943 in Lüblow ) is a German doctor and politician ( FDP ).

Life and work

After graduating from the Extended Goethe High School in Schwerin in 1961 , Wöstenberg studied medicine at the universities in Sofia and Rostock from 1962 to 1968 . He passed the state exam, his doctorate in 1968 at the University of Rostock with the work Catamnestic surveys after acute sudden hearing loss of unknown origin to Dr. med. and then worked as a general practitioner in the Schwerin District Hospital. Via the positions of senior and chief physician, he rose to the position of medical director of the Schwerin Clinic, part of the Medical Center of the state capital Schwerin. In 2003 he became medical director of the entire medical center.

Dieter Wöstenberg has been married since 1965 and has two daughters.

Wöstenberg was one of the founders of the GDR's FDP during the political transition . In 1990/91 he was state chairman of the Liberals in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and was elected to the FDP federal executive committee. From March to October 1990 he was a member of the first freely elected GDR People's Chamber , where he was deputy chairman of the liberal parliamentary group. From October to December 1990 he was a member of the German Bundestag . From 1991 to 1997 he was a member of the board of trustees of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation .
