Dietrich Friedrich von Holstein , also Diedrich Friedrich von Holstein (born July 9, 1758 in Klein Luckow near Güstrow , † March 20, 1840 in Güstrow) was a German officer.

Life

Dietrich Friedrich von Holstein came from the north German-Danish noble family von Holstein . The first headquarters was Ankershagen Castle near Waren .

He was born the son of Cuno Hans von Holstein (* June 21, 1710 - December 26, 1737) and his wife Dorothea Ilsabe (* October 25, 1717, † unknown), born von Engel . First he received private tuition from private tutors and then came to Schwerin as a page to the court of Friedrich Franz I.

In 1778 he was appointed cornet with the Mecklenburg Hussars in Ludwigslust and on November 3, 1780 as an officer . He became Prime Lieutenant in the Grenadier Battalion "Hereditary Prince" in Ludwigslust. On June 4, 1788, he received the patent for staff captain and on October 1, 1790 he was promoted to real captain and company commander in the infantry regiment in Schwerin. In 1796 he was transferred as a company commander to the Grenadier Regiment " Winter " under the command of Colonel Leopold Winter in Güstrow. On April 1, 1804, he was promoted to major in the "von Hobe" grenadier regiment under the leadership of Colonel von Hobe, who with his regiment was involved in the fight against the Güstrow " butter revolution " in 1800.

In 1808 Friedrich Franz I joined the Rhine Confederation ; Dietrich Friedrich von Holstein was given command of the Mecklenburg Infantry Brigade and was promoted to colonel at the same time. In 1809 he retired.

On June 6, 1810 he was appointed city commander of Güstrow and had a garrison of 70 soldiers.

From 1815 he edited the register for the Großherzoglich-Mecklenburg-Schwerinsche Wochenblatt . In 1822 he published a complete register for the years 1812 to 1821.

He married on May 15, 1793 in Woserin Lovisa von Pritzbuer (born May 19, 1768 in Woserin, † May 28, 1853 in Güstrow), a daughter of Friedrich von Pritzbuer (1735-1807), Mecklenburg chamberlain , district administrator and lord of Dinnies , Grambow, Lansen , Schwarzenhof and Woserin and his wife Dorothea Elisabeth (1745–1811), née von Manstein .
