Dietrich Harth
Dietrich Harth (born December 28, 1934 in Wiesbaden ) is a German university professor , literary and cultural scientist .
Life
He was born in Wiesbaden in 1934 as the first son of the Frankfurt merchant Friedrich Harth and his wife Käte, nee. Zeletzki born; his brother is the jazz musician Alfred Harth . After completing secondary school , he completed an apprenticeship as a wholesale merchant. He then worked in various domestic and foreign companies. After graduating from high school in 1957, he studied German and classical philology in Frankfurt am Main and Tübingen , later educational science and sociology . After a two-year break in his studies and work as a foreign correspondent in large-scale industry, later as secretary of the State Parents' Council of Hesse, he resumed his studies with the help of the German National Academic Foundation . He received his doctorate in Frankfurt in 1967 with a thesis on philology and practical philosophy . He participated in an edition project of the letters of the Italian humanist Poggio Bracciolini . From 1968 he was a research assistant at Ulrich Fülleborn's chair in Erlangen. In 1973 he received a cumulative habilitation . From 1974 to 2000 he was professor for recent German and general literary studies in Heidelberg , and also gave guest lectures in other European and non-European countries. He also worked as an impresario , director and reciter for the Heidelberg student theater and reading stages.
His main research interests are literary theory, aesthetics, cultural anthropology and ritual studies.
