from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dietrich Lusici (born February 25, 1942 in Ragow as Dietrich Schade) is a German painter , graphic artist and ceramist .

Life

After an apprenticeship as a decorative painter from 1956 to 1959, Dietrich Schade completed an apprenticeship as a poster and lettering painter from 1959 to 1961. During this time, I made my first own drawings and painter's books . This was followed by an external study of painting and graphics with Bruno Konrad in Dresden and Cottbus from 1963 to 1967 .

While still studying graphic design at the Berlin School of Advertising and Design from 1967 to 1970, he moved to Berlin. There he worked from 1969 to 1984 as artistic director of the “Studio Fine Arts” in Berlin-Köpenick .

His talent was initially further promoted. From 1977 to 1979 he was a master student of Prof. Werner Klemke at the GDR Academy of the Arts . He found a private and artistic retreat in his “artist garden”.

In 1982 Dietrich Schade changed his name to Lusici (German: “Der Lausitzer”).

During this time, Lusici found his own exhibition space almost exclusively in rooms of the Protestant church . Since he was never accepted as a non-conformist in the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR , he did not find any exhibition or income opportunities in public galleries. In 1986 he moved to West Berlin .

The artist couple Angela and Dietrich Lusici live and work in Lübbenau- Zerkwitz .
