Dietrich von Ahlefeldt (* April 28, 1618 ; † January 2, 1664 ) was bailiff to Schwabstedt , Lord of Osterrade , Kluvensiek , monastery provost to Uetersen and bearer of the Dannebrog Order and the Order of the Elephants .

Life

He came from the influential noble Ahlefeldt family and was elected provost of the Uetersen monastery in 1631 and was in the service of the Danish crown. His time as provost of the monastery was shaped by the contentious and generally unpopular priory Catharina von Platen , who demanded more free transport services from the farmers in the area. They attacked them at night and put them only with the bare essentials on a pasture in the Sachsenwald . Only days later did she return to the monastery, completely disturbed. The farmers were sued for this and had to pay a fine of 1000 thalers.

In 1634 he wrote a book about the monastery, in which he described the super-territoriality of the monastery of the Prince. Attributes to Holstein national authority. Ahlefeldt was considered a "womanizer", lived mainly in the priory of the monastery, because he quickly separated from his aristocratic wives and found refuge here. His tenure as the monastery provost ended in 1646.

Dietrich von Ahlefeldt was one of the last 12 to be awarded the Elephant Order by Christian IV (on October 4, 1634).
