Dimethyldiethoxysilane (also DMDEOS or DMDES ) is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of silanes .

use

Dimethyldiethoxysilane is a monomer , used in the preparation of the silicone polymer polydimethylsiloxane can be used (PDMS). It can also be used for corrosion protection and, together with methyltriethoxysilane, for the production of thin silicon dioxide layers. A polycondensation based on acid catalysis can give a material amphiphobic properties as a coating on dimethyldiethoxysilane and sulfuric acid .
