Dirik Schilgen (born January 23, 1965 in Emsdetten ) is a German jazz musician ( drums ).

Schilgen received drum lessons as a child, then learned to play the drums and took part in workshops by Doug Hammond and Walter Norris . Between 1986 and 1991 he studied at the Hilversum Conservatory ; he performed with his big band, with Frédéric Rabold , Wayne Bartlett, Nanni Byl and Siggi Gerhard . Since 1992 he has been working freelance in the Rhine-Main area, where he also works as a lecturer. In 2006 he released a debut album with his group Jazz Grooves . He also heads the Dirik Schilgen Trio Brazil and was one of the trios of Lucas Heidepriem , Christoph Mudrich and von Wolf Mayer .

Schilgen can still be heard on records by Jens Bunge , Martin Classen , Florian Poser , Wayne Bartlett, Christian Eckert , Tobias Langguth, Nicole Metzger and Götz Ommert . He accompanied cabaret artists in productions of the Cologne radio stage for the SWR ("tongue slap "), WDR ("slap on slap") and NDR ("intensive station"). As a musician, he worked for several musical productions at the Nationaltheater Mannheim .
