Dirk Meints Agena (born May 15, 1889 in Osteeler-Altendeich ; † June 24, 1934 in Greetsiel ) was a German lawyer , farmer and politician ( DNVP ).

Life and work

Dirk Agena was born on May 15, 1889 as the son of a farmer in Osteeler-Altendeich. After attending the elementary schools in Werdenumer-Neuland and Osteeler-Altendeich as well as graduating from the Ulrichsgymnasium in Norden in 1907 , he began studying law at the universities of Grenoble , Leipzig and Marburg . He finished this in 1910 with the first state examination in law. He then completed his legal clerkship in Gifhorn , Aurich , Hanover and Celle . In 1911/12 he did military service as a one-year volunteer with the East Frisian Field Artillery Regiment 62 and was promoted to lieutenant. From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier , most recently as a battery leader of the 19th Reserve Field Artillery Regiment .

After the war, he completed his doctorate in Marburg for Dr. jur. He passed the second state examination in law and was appointed court assessor in October 1919. He then switched to agriculture and in 1921 took over the management of his father's farm, a breeding business in Hagenpolder . In addition, he was active in the cooperative sector and was a board member and supervisory board member of various cooperatives. From 1925 to 1928 he was chairman of the East Frisian Land Association .

Since 1907 he was a member of the Corps Lusatia Leipzig .

MP

Agena was elected to the Reichstag in 1928 , to which he was a member until November 1933. In parliament he represented the constituency of Weser-Ems.

Public offices

Agena officiated from 1923 to 1928 as community leader (mayor) in Grimersum .
