Disco Dancer is a Bollywood classic with Mithun Chakraborty in his most famous role. In the USSR , too , the film became a cult mainly due to the song "Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy Aaja" .

action

As a child, Anil's mother was taken to jail for no reason by the extremely rich Mr. Oberoi. Now Anil, a little street artist, tries to get everyone back and gives everything to become a star.

Years later, Oberoi's son Sam shines as the star of the disco scene. Sam is so sought after that he only dismisses his manager David Brown out of arrogance. He, in turn, is looking for a new talent and discovers potential in young Anil. In fact, Anil comes to fame and fortune under his stage name Jimmy Disco Dancer. His start even displaces Sam from the top, who soon succumbs to alcohol and other drugs out of frustration .

Finally, Jimmy falls in love with Oberoi's daughter Rita. But this goes too far for Oberoi and he swears revenge. First Jimmy's mother has to believe in it and dies of a tragic, staged "accident". Jimmy is also injured. But he cannot be dissuaded from taking part in a song competition as a representative of India.
