The San Pablo district is located in the Mariscal Ramón Castilla province of the Loreto region in northeastern Peru . The district founded on October 19, 1993 has an area of ​​5082 km². The 2017 census counted 12,388 inhabitants. In 2007 the population was 12,197. The administrative center is the small town of San Pablo de Loreto, 95  m high on the south bank of the Amazon , with 3635 inhabitants (as of 2017). San Pablo de Loreto is 66 km west-southwest of the provincial capital Caballococha .

Geographical location

The district of San Pablo is centrally located in the Peruvian Amazon in the province of Mariscal Ramón Castilla. The Amazon traverses the district in an easterly direction. The area consists mainly of rainforest.

The district of San Pablo borders on the Pebas district to the west, the Ramón Castilla district to the east and the Yavarí district to the south .
