Ditalimfos is a chemical compound from the group of thiophosphoric acid esters and phthalimides and a systemic fungicide with a curative effect. Ditalimfos was discovered by Henry Tolkmith in 1966 . It was used against powdery mildew , apple scab and monilinia under the trade names Frutogard and Plondrel . Ditalimfos inhibits the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine .

Extraction and presentation

Ditalimfos can be obtained by reacting potassium phthalimide with O , O -diethylchlorothiophosphate (DEPCT).

Admission

No plant protection products containing this active ingredient are permitted in the EU or Switzerland . Ditalimfos was approved in the FRG from 1973 to 1986.
