Location of Dittersdorf in Saxony

Dittersdorf is a district of the Saxon clock town Glashütte in the Eastern Ore Mountains. Together with its former districts of Börnchen , Rückhain and Neudörfel , it has around 700 inhabitants.

history

Dittersdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1340. In this document, the castle and the town of Lauenstein "with accessories", including Dittersdorf, are sold by the Lords of Berga to Peter von Trossin. The founding of Dittersdorf was previously suspected towards the end of the 13th century; it was probably based on the Lordship of Bärenstein or Lauenstein . Due to the tin ore finds in the region, one surely suspected ores and other mineral resources in the Dittersdorf area and commissioned a locator named Diether to found a village. Since these hopes were not confirmed, farmers settled in Dittersdorf, cleared the forests and planted fields. It seems far more realistic, however, that the village goes back to Dietrich von Potschappel (ancestral town southwest of Dresden), who appears once in the tradition together with his relative Berthold (founder of the neighboring Berthelsdorf?). The lords of Potschappel were ministeriales of the burgraves of Dohna and seem to have merged with the lords of Sürßen in the 1270 / 80s .

Dittersdorf Church

Presumably a church was also built during this time, at first perhaps just a wooden chapel, which was later replaced by a stone one. It is believed that the sacristy of today's church could still date from this period. From the 16th to the 18th century, the church was gradually expanded and expanded. The markings on the church ceiling show that extensions must have taken place in 1532 and 1623. Also in 1623 a school opened in Dittersdorf, where students of all ages were presumably taught together.

The Thirty Years War brought murder, robbery and pillage to the village. The fact that Dittersdorf's history before the Thirty Years' War is often difficult to understand is due to the fact that the imperial troops tore up and burned many documents from this period. So the war fell, the church records to the victim. The 18th century was also very restless for Dittersdorf and the region. In 1707 Swedish dragoons invaded Dittersdorf and Liebenau , in 1753 Dombale Corps and 1758 Hradick Corps. Everyone looted and rioted. The Peace of Hubertusburg in 1763 finally brought peace to Dittersdorf.

The plague turned out to be much more devastating for the village . In 1506, Dittersdorf was affected for the first time by the epidemic, which claimed several more victims in the course of the 16th and 17th centuries. In September 1632 soldiers of the imperial general Holk dragged the plague into Dittersdorf, plundered and looted in the village. They and the epidemic were responsible for the fact that the village was almost depopulated: In the following five years, 405 people in Dittersdorf died of the plague. The bodies were buried in houses or in the field. Not until 1643 was it again possible to carry out Christian burials.

At the beginning of the 19th century, Dittersdorf suffered bad harvests and large livestock losses. In 1883 a road was built to Rückhain, which until then was only connected to Dittersdorf via a dirt road. In 1913 Dittersdorf was connected to the Freiberg electricity network. Neudörfel followed in 1921, back grove in 1926.

economy

Agriculture is still practiced in Dittersdorf today. Above all, the young cattle facility from GDR times, which now belongs to Liebenauer Agrar GmbH, cultivates a large part of the fields. Grain and fodder maize are grown here for personal use. Today Dittersdorf is one of the few villages in the region that has its own bakery, butcher and grocery store. In addition, some small companies from the office and computer technology, transport, precision engineering, construction and finance sectors have settled here.

societies

After the fall of the Wall in 1990, a shooting club was founded again in the village. The home club Zur Linde Börnchen, the riding club and the youth club Sunshine also determine life in Dittersdorf. Together they organize the Dittersdorf May Festival every year, which takes place at the end of April / beginning of May. Further annual events are a riding and jumping tournament and a small shooting festival.
