Dmytro Witalijowytsch Monakow ( Ukrainian Дмитро Віталійович Монаков ; born February 17, 1963 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ; † November 21, 2007 ibid) was a Ukrainian sports shooter .
successes
Dmytro Monakov took part in trap shooting at the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 for the Soviet Union and in Atlanta in 1996 for the Ukraine. In 1988, after 149 points in the first round and 48 points in the semi-finals, he moved into the final as first place. In this he remained flawless like Miloslav Bednařík , who tied on points , so that the decision about the Olympic victory was only made in the jump-off. After both hit seven goals, Bednařík missed the eighth goal. Monakov, on the other hand, also hit this and won the gold medal. In 1996 he did not get over 45th place with 115 points. In 1987 in Valencia and in 1994 in Fagnano Olona Monakow became world champion . He also secured silver with the Trap team in 1987.
After his active career he was, among other things, coach of the Ukrainian national team. Monakov was married and had one child.
