The place originated at the latest in the 13th century and was first mentioned in 1204 as "Dobroslavici villa".

In 1865 Dobroslawitz consisted of a manor and a village community. At that time, the village had six farms, eight half-farmers, 10 gardeners and nine cottagers. The school was in Matzkirch.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 301 eligible voters voted for Upper Silesia to remain with Germany and 33 for membership in Poland. Dobroslawitz remained with the German Empire after the division of Upper Silesia . On March 27, 1936, the place was renamed in honor of a wave of renaming of the Nazi era . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Cosel .

In 1945 the previously German town came under Polish administration and was then attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed the Polish Dobrosławice . The district of Cosel was renamed Powiat Kozielski. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1975 the powiat Kozielski was dissolved. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski . On September 30, 2014, the place was also given the official German place name Dobroslawitz .
