Dolce Vita is the third studio album by the German rock 'n' roll band Spider Murphy Gang . It was released in the summer of 1981. Musically it is a rock 'n' roll album, although some songs, such as Scandal im Sperrgebiet, were later assigned to the Neue Deutsche Welle .
Creation and artwork
The recordings for the album took place in the Rainbow Studio in Munich , Harald Steinhauer produced the record together with the band. Singer and bassist Günther Sigl wrote all the pieces, only Schuitog is a cover of School Day by Chuck Berry . Sigl also wrote the German text of the song. Steinhauer, Klaus Röttger and Peter Sigl took over the background vocals for this title.
The cover of the album was designed by Dirk Weber and the Kochlowski company. It shows the band at a swimming pool in sun loungers, in the background are mannequins dressed in summer. The writing is arranged like a collage .
publication
The album was released in the summer of 1981. In September, the first single Scandal im Sperrgebiet was released. It was boycotted by many broadcasters because of the allegedly offensive text, and the song was not played by the ZDF hit parade either. Still, the song became the band's first and only number one hit. The second single, Schickeria , quickly became known throughout Germany with the lyrics that describe the Munich Schickeria .
