Domen Vedlin (born December 21, 1986 in Ljubljana , SR Slovenia ) is a Slovenian - Croatian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the KHL Medveščak Zagreb since 2012 and has played with the club in the International Hockey League since 2017 .
Career
Domen Vedlin began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HK Slavija Ljubljana , for whose professional team he was active in the Slovenian ice hockey league from 2002 to 2005 and with which he was runner- up in the 2003/04 season . The defender then moved to city rivals HDD Olimpija Ljubljana , with whom he won the Slovenian championship title in the 2006/07 season . The 2008/09 season spent the former international junior player at the Croatian club KHL Medveščak Zagreb , with whom he played in the Slovenian ice hockey league and the Croatian ice hockey league and with which he was instant champion .
After Vedlin had been on the ice for the Scorpions de Mulhouse for a year in the French second division , he signed a contract with his former club HDD Olimpija Ljubljana from the Austrian ice hockey league for the 2010/11 season . In this he scored a goal in a total of 58 games and provided eleven templates. After playing in Austria, he also played for his team in the Slovenian ice hockey league. In 2012 he returned to Medveščak Zagreb and played there for another year in the Austrian league. He then moved to the club's second team and played with her in both the Slovenian and Croatian leagues. In 2015, 2016 and 2017 he was again Croatian champion. Since 2017 he has been playing with Medveščak's second team in the newly founded International Hockey League , which was won immediately.
During the 2018/19 season, he again played a few games for the club in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga.
International
For Slovenia, Vedlin took part in the U18 World Cup in 2004 and the U20 World Cup in 2006 in Division I. In the senior division, Vedlin made his debut at the 2017 Division IB World Cup in the jersey of the Croatian national team . There he also played at the 2018 World Cup .
