Dominic Meier (born December 26, 1976 in Chur ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with SC Bern in the National League A.

Career

Dominic Meier began his career as an ice hockey player at EHC Chur , for which he was active in the National League B from 1994 to 1996 . He then moved to the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers from the National League A , where he had a regular place for four years. In the summer of 2000, the defender signed with SC Bern , with whom he won the Swiss championship for the first time in the 2003/04 season . After seven years, the defender left the capital city in 2007 when he was signed by their league rivals EV Zug . Again, two seasons later, the right shooter returned to the 2009/10 season to his former club from Bern back and won with SC Bern of the 2009/10 season, his second Swiss Championships. The following season Meier was almost completely absent due to cartilage damage in his right knee.

In January 2012 the SC Bern loaned Meier to the NLB-Club EHC Basel . In May 2012 he was loaned to EHC Biel until his contract expired at the end of the 2012/13 season.

International

For Switzerland , Meier took part in the U20 Junior World Cup in 1996 , where he finished ninth with his team.
