Countries in which Domino's Pizza is on the market

Domino's Pizza Delivery Service says it has more than 14,000 branches in over 80 countries.

Germany

Domino's Pizza first tried to gain a foothold in Germany around 1980. This attempt proved unsuccessful. On November 6, 2010, the company returned to the German market, opened its first German branch in Berlin and announced that it would open 1,000 Domino's pizza branches in Germany over the next ten years. At first, however, it was again difficult to establish itself in the market and five of the 20 branches were about to close.

In December 2015, Domino's Pizza announced the takeover of the German market leader Joey's Pizza Service at a price of 79 million euros. The owner becomes a joint venture, in which the British Domino's Pizza Group (master franchisee for Great Britain, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland and Luxembourg, among others) one third and the Australian Domino's Pizza Enterprises (master franchisee for Australia, Japan, France, the Netherlands and Belgium) will hold two thirds of the shares. The transaction took place after approval in spring 2016. On April 25, 2016, the first previous Joey's Pizza locations were finally renamed Domino's Pizza. The previous product range of Joey's Pizza was mainly retained.

According to Domino's Germany, there are around 220 branches in Germany. From 2010, the main franchisee for Germany was the Israeli Yakir Gabay , co-owner of the hotel management chain Grand City Hotels . In April 2011, the DP master franchisee for Great Britain and Ireland took over 75% of the shares in Germany's main franchisee Intergrowth Enterprise (later renamed DP Cyco, based in Cyprus, a subsidiary of Domino's Pizza Group,) 25% remained with Gabay's subsidiary Briskas.

In October 2017, Domino's Pizza Germany took over competitor Hallo Pizza for 32 million euros. The 170 branches of the former competitor have been flagged to Domino's since April 2018, the process should be completed in 2019.

Belgium

There are more than 50 branches in Belgium (as of January 2019), including 7 in the Brussels-Capital Region .

Netherlands

There are over 250 branches in the Netherlands (as of January 2019).

Switzerland

In Switzerland, Domino's Pizza employs around 420 people and operates 20 shops in 8 cities (as of January 2019): Since September 2012, Domino's Pizza Switzerland (now known as DP Cyco Switzerland) has been a subsidiary of Domino's Pizza Group plc with over 1000 outlets in Great Britain, Ireland, Scotland and Switzerland as well as holdings in Domino's Pizza markets in Germany, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. As of March 2013, the aim was to open 25 new branches in Switzerland within five years.

France

The company has almost 220 branches in France (as of February 2013). Most of these are located along the coastal regions and in central Île-de-France with the capital Paris .

Austria

The operator of the first Domino's Pizza in Vienna-Floridsdorf has been Daufood Austria GmbH since October 23, 2017. It also has franchise rights for the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. The initial aim is to open 25 to 40 restaurants in Vienna in order to achieve delivery within 30 minutes throughout the city. Deliveries are to be made with electric bikes (as of October 2017). There are now 8 branches in Vienna (as of September 2019), namely two branches in Landstrasse , as well as one branch each in Neubau , Favoriten , Simmering , Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus and Meidling .

Japan

As part of several campaigns on the 25th anniversary of the opening of the first branch in Japan, the company offered a part-time position with an hourly wage of 2.5 million yen (equivalent to 22,000 euros) in December 2010. A multi-stage selection process followed. No work experience was required, the only requirement was a minimum age of 18 years. Another publicity stunt promised anyone born on September 30, 2010 a free pizza on every birthday up to the age of 25.
