Jesse Donald "Don" Knotts (born July 21, 1924 in Morgantown , West Virginia , USA , † February 24, 2006 in Beverly Hills , California ) was an American actor and comedian who appeared frequently in roles in which he was one embodied the fate-plagued, nervous, mostly awkward everyday type.
