Donna Fraser ( Donna Karen Fraser ; born November 7, 1972 in the London Borough of Croydon ) is an English athlete . The 2000 Olympic medalist in the 400-meter run achieved medals and top placings at international championships, especially with the British and English 4-by-400-meter relay .

Donna Fraser finished second at the 1990 Junior World Championships with the 4 x 100 meter relay . At the Junior European Championships in 1991, she won silver again with the 4-by-100-meter relay and was fifth with the 4-by-400-meter relay. She won over 400 meters in 52.54 s ahead of the German Anja Rücker in 52.73 s.

After she was eliminated in the quarter-finals over 400 meters at the 1996 Olympic Games , she was sixth in the 1997 indoor world championships and the world championships with the 4-by-400-meter relay.

At the European Indoor Championships in 1998 she was fifth over 200 meters in 23.53 s. At the European Championships in Budapest in 1998, she reached sixth place over 400 meters in 51.54 s. As the starting runner of the British 4 x 400 meter relay, she won bronze with Vicky Jameson , Katherine Merry and Allison Curbishley in 3: 25.66 minutes behind the relays from Germany and Russia. Four weeks after the European Championships, the 1998 Commonwealth Games took place in Kuala Lumpur . Over 400 meters, Fraser reached third place in 51.01 s behind the Jamaican Sandie Richards and behind Curbishley, who competed here for Scotland. On the final day, Fraser won two more medals. With the 4 x 100 meter relay she won bronze behind Australia and Jamaica, over 4 x 400 meters the English women only had to admit defeat to the Australians.

After a weaker season in 1999, Fraser increased her best performance from 50.85 s to 50.77 s in the quarter-finals of the 2000 Olympic Games . In the semifinals she ran 50.21 s and in the final she was fourth in 49.79 s, seven hundredths of a second behind Katherine Merry . The season reached the finish line in sixth place.

After a long injury break, Donna Fraser ran again in the British season at the 2004 Olympic Games . In 3: 25.12 minutes, Fraser, Catherine Murphy , Christine Ohuruogu and Lee McConnell finished fourth, but were more than three seconds behind bronze. At the European Indoor Championships in Madrid in 2005, Fraser won an international medal again after six and a half years. With Melanie Purkiss , Donna Fraser, Catherine Murphy and Lee McConnell, the British season was only defeated by the Russians and the Poles in 3: 29.81 minutes. At the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki, the season with the line-up of Lee McConnell, Donna Fraser, Nicola Sanders and Christine Ohuruogu took bronze behind the seasons from Russia and Jamaica in 3: 24.44 minutes.

At a height of 1.81 m, her competition weight is 70 kg. She starts for the club Croydon Harriers, where she is trained by Ayo Falola.
