Dor ( Hindi : डोर , Dor ; Urdu : ڈور; Tagline : How far would you go to save the one you love? - How far would you go to the rescue, you love? ) Is a Hindi film by Nagesh Kukunoor from 2006. It is a remake of the Malayalam film Perumazhakkalam , which Kukunoor first saw at the International Film Festival of India .

Zeenat Fatima, a Muslim, lives in Himachal Pradesh and marries her boyfriend Amir Khan before going to Saudi Arabia to work, similar to Shankar Singh from Rajasthan , who leaves his wife Meera in India to take care of the family with the To financially support work abroad.
Everything goes well until Shankar has a fatal accident after an argument with his roommate Amir. The latter is sentenced to death. Only one thing can save him: According to Saudi Arabian law, the victim's widow can testify with her signature that she will forgive the perpetrator.
Zeenat believes in her husband's innocence and wants to try everything to find the widow Meera. With Shankar's photo, she makes her way to Rajasthan, where she meets the juggler Behroopiya, who helps her. After a long journey they stand in front of Shankar's parents' house. Zeenat explains their concern and is promptly thrown out of the house.
Now they are trying to get to Meera personally. This is not easy because Meera lives like a slave. Any pleasure in life would be tantamount to adultery. Only when visiting the temple does Zeenat have the opportunity to gain Meera's trust. Only later does Zeenat confess to her of the appeal for clemency. Meera feels abused and refuses to write anything. The one who stole her whole life should pay for it.
At some point she realizes that revenge will not make her life easier. She wants to give Zeenat the signed pardon before she leaves. As the train slowly departs, Zeenat extends her hand and pulls Meera onto the train to give her a free life.
