Village church in Buckow (Dahme / Mark)

The Protestant village church Buckow is a hall church in the Buckow district of the city of Dahme / Mark in the Teltow-Fläming district in Brandenburg . The church belongs to the parish of Zossen Fläming the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Oberlausitz .

history

The art historians in the Dehio handbook assume that the building could have been built in the first half of the 14th century, while the Dahme / Mark Office specifies the 15th century as the date of construction. This also corresponds with a statement in a church leader of the church district Zossen-Fläming. In the late Middle Ages, the extended church the sacred way to the west. In the first half of the 18th century, the previously Gothic forms were built over in baroque style . The vestibule with west tower was built at the end of the 19th century.

architecture

View from the northeast

The nave was built from uncut, unevenly layered field stones . There are several beehive-shaped windows of different sizes distributed on the southern wall of the nave, some of which are plastered . After the renovations, only two large, also beehive-shaped windows, which are framed with reddish brick, are left on the northern ship wall. The remains of a group of three windows can be seen on the east side . The left and middle windows are molded in baroque style, while the right window was walled up with red brick. The gable was also built from smaller field stones. The nave is covered with a simple gable roof made of beaver tail and extends to the vestibule with the west tower . This was built from red bricks, which are adorned on its west side by three large panels at the height of the first floor and a rose window above. Access is possible via a large, four-tiered portal. In addition, however, there is another, much smaller and simple portal on the southern side of the church tower. It served the visitors from the incorporated villages of Damsdorf and Glienig, while the Buckowers were allowed to enter the church through the central portal. Above the roof ridge , two small sound arcades are embedded on each side of the tower , which are grouped around a significantly larger opening. Above that, the tower ends with a slate-covered pyramid roof with a tower ball and weather vane .

Furnishing

The pulpit altar dates from the first half of the 18th century and shows the Lord's Supper in its predella . The main picture shows the crucifixion of Christ between Tuscan columns and carved cheeks. It ends with the inscription JESVS in the pediment . The altar was restored in 2013. The organ prospect was created in the 18th century; the organ was created by Gustav Heinze in 1911.
