Village church of St. Pauli Buhla

The Evangelical Lutheran branch church Dorfkirche St. Pauli is located in Buhla , a community in the Eichsfeld district in Thuringia in Germany . The parish Buhla belongs to the parish Sollstedt in Kirchenkreis Südharz the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The core Gothic hall church from quarry stone has a three-sided end of the choir . It was rebuilt in 1620/50 and changed again in 1750. The retracted church tower in the west was supposedly rebuilt in 1726, but it is still partly Gothic. His verschieferter top of truss and the pyramidal roof are from 1825. The west corners of the tower are subsequently carried beveled buttresses strengthened. The nave is spanned by a wooden barrel vault. There are galleries on three sides . The pulpit altar from 1740 has ornaments made of foliage . The crack has an open gable and bears the coats of arms of those of von Berlepsch and von Häßler. At the top there is a wooden statuette of Jesus Christ with a victory flag between angels. On the north-western outer wall is an epitaph with the figure of a knight , probably from the 17th century. The organ with 15 registers , divided into two manuals and a pedal , was built by Gottlieb Knauf in 1850 .
