description

The neo-Romanesque plastered hall church was built in 1826. The foundation walls of the retracted choir tower go back to a previous medieval building. The rectangular nave is covered with a slate mansard roof. The square tower has an eight-sided slate top on which sits a dome that carries a lantern . In the tower hang a bronze bell from 1920 and two cast steel bells from 1962. In front of the triumphal arch of the interior there is a simple pulpit altar , crowned by a simple wooden cross. The choir stalls adjoin the triumphal arch to the right and left . There are flat ceilings over the single-storey galleries of the church hall , the middle part is covered by a wooden barrel vault. On the south wall between the altar and the pulpit is the shrine of an altar retable from the end of the 15th century with carved figures of a portrait of the Virgin between Saints Laurentius and Nicholas . Behind the altar wall is hiding a Gothic tabernacle . Another presentation cross from the Baroque period is worth mentioning . The special decoration of the church are the round, marbled columns that surround the entire room, including the pulpit altar. The organ from 1834 had nine registers , divided into a manual and a pedal . It was built by Johann Christian Adam Gerhard and was renewed in 1887 during the renovation of the church.
