Dorohytschiwka (Ukrainian Дорогичівка ; Russian Дорогичевка / Dorogitschewka , Polish Drohiczówka ) is a village in Salishchyky Raion of Ternopil Oblast in western Ukraine .

The village is located about 77 kilometers south of the oblast capital Ternopil and 28 kilometers northwest of the district capital Salishchyky on the bank of the river Krynyzja ( Криниця ).

On December 17, 2017, the village became the center of the newly established rural community Dorohytschiwka ( Дорогичівська сільська громада Dorohytschiwska silska hromada ). This also includes the 4 villages Chmelewa ( Хмелева ), Lytjatschi ( Литячі ), Shutromynzi ( Шутроминці ) and Svershkivtsi ( Свершківці ), previously it formed the district council of the same name .

The place was mentioned for the first time in 1544 and was initially in the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania , Podolian Voivodeship as part of the aristocratic republic of Poland . From 1772 to 1918 it belonged, with an interruption between 1810 and 1815, as part of the Tarnopol district to Russia , under its Polish name Drohiczówka to the Austrian Galicia (until 1918 then in the Zaleszczyki district ).

After the end of World War I the place to come Poland (in the province Tarnopol , Powiat Zaleszczyki , Gmina Drohiczówka ), was in the Second World War in September 1939 by the Soviet Union and then from summer 1941 to 1944 of Germany occupied, the place was in incorporated the district of Galicia .

After the end of the war, the place was added to the Soviet Union , there the village , now called Dorohytschiwka, came to the Ukrainian SSR and has been part of today's Ukraine since 1991.
