Three mountains is a village in the peasantry Bright , in the municipality of Bad Zwischenahn in Ammerland in Lower Saxony .

geography

Dreibergen is located on the north bank of the Zwischenahner Sea , a 5.5 square kilometer lake. The Otterbäke , an approximately 12-kilometer-long stream, flows into the lake near Dreibergen .

origin of the name

The name of the place is derived from three raised hills on which the Counts of Elmendorf built Elmendorf Castle in the Middle Ages . The entire former castle grounds have been under nature protection since 1943 .

Dreibergen is a docking station for the “White Fleet” that operates on the Zwischenahner Sea. The three passenger ships "MS Ammerland", "MS Oldenburg" and "MS Bad Zwischenahn" are currently in use on the Zwischenahner Meer.
