Falko Droßmann (born December 11, 1973 in Wipperfürth ) is a German politician of the SPD and lieutenant colonel in the air force of the Bundeswehr . Since February 25, 2016 he has been the district office manager in Hamburg-Mitte .

Life and career

Droßmann grew up in Wipperfürth in the Oberberg district . After the tenth grade, he left high school and trained with the North Rhine-Westphalia police . From 1994 he attended the vocational high school in Michelstadt , where he passed his Abitur in 1997 . He then began his service as a soldier in the career of the officers of the army service and studied from 1999 to 2003 Historical Sciences with the degree Master of Arts in today's Helmut Schmidt University / University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg . In 2005 Droßmann was made a professional soldier and in 2008 was awarded the Silver Cross of the Bundeswehr . Most recently he was employed at the Helmut Schmidt University / University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg as a student department head and had the disciplinary authority of a battalion commander . During his service he was a blue helmet soldier . Since his election to a “municipal electoral civil service contract ”, his employment as a soldier has been suspended .

Droßmann has been married to his partner since October 1, 2017, the day marriage was introduced for everyone .

Political functions

In 2001 he joined the SPD, for which he initially worked in the Billstedt local committee , in the youth welfare committee and in the citizens' committee. He has been a member of the Hamburg-Mitte district assembly since 2004, and chairman of the SPD district parliamentary group since 2011. In 2014, Droßmann was re-elected to the Hamburg-Mitte district assembly in first place on the district list. He was also confirmed as parliamentary group leader and has since led the red-green coalition in the Hamburg-Mitte district.

On February 25, 2016, he was elected District Office Manager in the Hamburg-Mitte district, succeeding Andy Grote , who was appointed Senator for the Interior of the Hanseatic city in January .
