Drone is a district of the municipality of Stemwede in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Minden-Lübbecke . A little more than 500 people live here. Drone has a riding hall and a riding arena.
The place has a closed location and is on the border with Lower Saxony . He was a prize winner in the competition “ Our village should be more beautiful ”.
The Schützenfest is celebrated annually on the second weekend in July, and on the following Monday the so-called tompet, an old Westphalian round dance, is performed.

A school was probably founded in 1701 when Daniel Henrich Adam Meyer from drone was accepted as the local schoolmaster.
Until the regional reform , drone belonged to the Dielingen-Wehdem office . Due to the Bielefeld Act , the merger with twelve other municipalities to form the new municipality of Stemwede took place on January 1, 1973.
