Niedermehnen is a village in the municipality of Stemwede in the Minden-Lübbecke district in North Rhine-Westphalia . It has about 650 inhabitants.

The creation of the village square is a joint effort by many residents. It was inaugurated with a topping-out ceremony .

history

Niedermehnen was first mentioned in a document in 1242 .

Around the year 1860, the former municipality of Mehnen was renamed Niedermehne . On January 1, 1973, the place was incorporated into the new municipality of Stemwede.

In the 2004 national competition " Our village should become more beautiful - our village has a future ", Niedermehnen received a silver plaque.
