Twiehausen is a district of the municipality of Stemwede in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Minden-Lübbecke . Twiehausen is a predominantly agricultural scattered settlement . The chapel is dedicated to John.

history

Twiehausen was first mentioned in a document in 1229 when the knightly feudal lord of the two knights Berno and Heidolfus de Lavelsloh sold the tithe in Twiehausen to the Levern monastery for four marks.

On April 1, 1936, the municipality was re-formed from parts of the municipality of Destel .

On January 1, 1973, Twiehausen was merged with twelve other municipalities to form the new municipality of Stemwede due to the Bielefeld Act . At that time the community had almost 800 inhabitants, which resulted in the very low population density of only 47 inhabitants / km² for North Rhine-Westphalia.
