The Drumont (German: Trumenkopf ) is a mountain in the Vosges . Its two peaks are the Grand Drumont with a height of 1223 meters and the Petit Drumont with a height of 1200 meters. The mountain is located not far from the source of the Moselle on the border of the Haut-Rhin (Upper Rhine ) and Vosges departments northeast of Bussang and west of Fellering and Oderen in the Alsatian Thur Valley (Vallée de la Thur) in the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park .

location

Like the Grand Ventron further north, the Drumont lies on the ridge which forms the border between Alsace and Lorraine and which is crossed north of the Col d'Oderen and south of the Col de Bussang , over which the Route nationale 66 runs. To the south, the ridge continues to the Alsatian Belchen (French: Ballon d'Alsace).

Panorama from the Drumont

From the Col de Bussang, the Petit Drumont can be reached via a small paved forest road (gradient 13%), which offers good opportunities for cycling. The mountain is also popular with paragliders . The Petit Drumont offers a rewarding view with an orientation board.
