Dušan Melichárek (born November 29, 1983 in Prague ) is a Czech football player . The goalkeeper has played his career so far in his home country and in Sweden.

Career

Melichárek played in youth at FC Slovácko , for whom he later made his debut in the reserve team in men's football. In 2004 the club loaned him to FC Veselí nad Moravou for one year . In the summer of 2005 he completed a trial training session with the Swedish second division club Mjällby AIF , which then signed him. Under coach Sören Cratz and his successor Thomas Andersson-Borstam , he immediately belonged to the regular formation and managed to stay up with the previous year's climber at the end of the 2005 season. In the following season he was initially a regular before he had to temporarily cede the place between the posts to Christian Fegler after being sent off. Also in the 2007 season there was a duel for the regular place in the club's goal, this time with the newly signed Rickard Fransson . Ultimately, Melichárek made 17 games this season.

After Mjällby AIF had signed a new goalkeeper for the 2008 season with former national goalkeeper Mattias Asper , Melichárek looked around for a new club. In February, the first division team Malmö FF signed him on loan until the summer with a contractually agreed purchase option. Although Jonas Sandqvist has not been used as a substitute goalkeeper in Allsvenskan , the parties agreed in July on a contract that will run until the end of 2011. On August 2, Roland Nilsson changed him for Sandqvist in the 2-0 defeat by IFK Göteborg , three weeks after his debut he ousted the competitor until the end of the season. In preparation for the following season, he moved back into the second tier. Even after the competitor could not agree with the club about an extension of the contract that expired at the end of the season and then left the club, he remained behind the newly signed Johan Dahlin substitute and only came to play occasionally. When the club won the Swedish championship title in the 2010 season , he was without a season. In the following season he completed 18 season games when he benefited from an injury break Dahlins. During this time he played with the club in the qualifying rounds of the 2011/12 UEFA Champions League , in which, alongside Jiloan Hamad , Daniel Larsson and Ulrich Vinzents , he narrowly made it through the Champions League group stage with a 1-4 Missed away defeat and a 2-0 home win against Dinamo Zagreb . After Dahlin's return at the end of August, he was back in the role of substitute goalkeeper, who was also in goal in the group stage of the 2011/12 UEFA Europa League .

In January 2012, Melichárek returned to FC Slovácko after his contract expired.
