Dubrovački Trubaduri
Dubrovački Trubaduri ( Serbo-Croatian for Troubadure from Dubrovnik ) were a Yugoslav band that enjoyed success in the 1960s and 1970s.
Band history
Their musical style ranged between Schlager and a type of folk that was based on the Italian- Dalmatian music of the early modern era. Accordingly, some of them appeared in historical costumes.
The band was formed in 1962. Members were (as of 1968):
- Đelo Jusić (born January 26, 1939 - † May 31, 2019: guitar, mandolin etc., also composer)
- Luci Kapurso (clarinet etc.)
- Hamo Hajdarhodžić (guitar etc.)
- Marko Brešković (* 1942; † August 30, 2010: bass guitar)
- Ladislav Padjen
- Slobodan Berdović
In 1968 the band won the Yugoslav qualification for the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Jedan dan (One Day) . Since the rules of the ESC at that time did not allow bands, but only individual performers or duos with a maximum of three background singers, Luci Kapurso and Hamo Hajdarhodžić appeared as a duo, three other band members were declared as background choirs. The contribution took 7th place , tied with the contributions from Belgium and Monaco .
By the late 1970s, the band recorded several LPs and singles.
