The Duck Creek ( English for " duck brook") is a 48 km long right tributary of the Ohio River in the eastern US state of Ohio in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains .

It drains into the Gulf of Mexico via the Ohio River and the Mississippi River . The Duck Creek belongs to the river system of the Mississippi River and arises in northern Washington County from the confluence of East Fork and West Fork Duck Creek in the town of Warner. After that, the Duck Creek flows meandering generally to the south and flows Marietta around 5 km east of the city center in Ohio.

The East Fork Duck Creek is approximately 30 km long, has its source in western Monroe County at Summerfield and flows south through eastern Noble and northern Washington Counties. The 50 km long West Fork Duck Creek rises in southeast Guernsey County near Sarahsville, then flows south-southeast through central Noble County and northern Washington County to the confluence with the East Fork.

The catchment area of Duck Creek, in which there are numerous smaller towns, is mainly used for agriculture. The only bigger city is Marietta . The rivers in the catchment area are particularly polluted by acid mine water as a result of the former mining in the region . Efforts are being made in various directions to improve the water quality of rivers.
