The Duquesne University is a private Catholic university in Pittsburgh in the US state of Pennsylvania . The college was founded in 1878 under the name Pittsburgh Catholic College of the Holy Ghost (Latin Universitas Spiritus Sancti Duquesnensis ) and was renamed in 1911 in honor of the former French Governor General Ange de Menneville, Marquis de Duquesne . Today 9,617 students are enrolled here.
