The E25 or Troncal de la Costa is a road in Ecuador . It forms a north-south route from San Miguel de los Bancos through Santo Domingo and Quevedo to Alamor on the border with Peru . The E25 is 664 kilometers long.
Street description
The E25 begins in San Miguel de los Bancos, about 40 kilometers north of Santo Domingo and 65 km west of Quito , on the E28. The road passes south of the city of Santo Domingo where it crosses the E20. The E25 is mainly some distance from the coast, despite the name Troncal de la Costa, but the end of the road is on the coastal area. In the east are the high Andes , in the west is the not flat coastal region. The path leads east to the city of Guayaquil and then closer to the coast to Machala , after which the route runs back inland through mountainous areas. The road leads over a mountain pass with about 700 meters and ends in Zapotillo on the border with Peru. On the Peruvian side for the road the name of the Ruta 1 N to Sullana .
history
The E25 is traditionally one of the main routes from Ecuador, especially in the part between Santo Domingo and the Guayaquil region. The southern part is of minor importance and is used by the through traffic to Peru. Parts of the E25 are toll sticks, for which toll must be paid.
