The EEEfCOM innovation award (Electrical and Electronic Engineering for Communication) was among others a. Established in 2001 in cooperation with the companies Rohde & Schwarz and Agilent Technologies by Gerotron Communication and is awarded annually to scientists and engineers across Europe.

According to the regulations, the award serves to promote innovative, practical research and development as well as the recognition and motivation of engineers and scientists in the fields of information transmission technology and electronics. The prize is aimed at individuals as well as teams / consortia from universities and research institutions as well as industry. Significant current scientific contributions to the further development of information technology that are considered important are honored. In addition to criteria such as the improvement of current technologies and the novelty value, the jury attaches great importance to practical relevance when making award decisions.
