Eberhard Meichsner

Eberhard Meichsner (born November 20, 1914 in Cologne ; † August 10, 2001 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) was a German film production manager .

biography

Meichsner attended an art college and at the beginning of the Third Reich completed an acting training at the National Theater in Weimar . Until 1937 he worked as an actor and assistant director, then he went to the Munich production company Bavaria , where Meichsner became head of the culture and short film department.

From 1940 to 1942 Eberhard Meichsner was production group leader at two Prague film companies. After his military service he resumed his work as a production manager, this time for West German and Berlin companies. Meichsner was initially production manager for several Veit Harlan productions and films by Paul May , including the popular 08/15 trilogy, in 1958 also for Fritz Lang's double feature The Tiger of Eschnapur and The Indian Tomb, and then for some of the travel and wanderlusts -Sog with Freddy Quinn . At the beginning of the 1960s he was in charge of the production of thrillers with scary elements as well as two subsidiary works from the Karl May film series.

Most of Meichsner's production managements were films from the CCC production company owned by Berlin producer Artur Brauner and KG DIVINA-FILM GmbH & Co. owned by Ilse Kubaschewski , which was also the owner of Gloria-Film GmbH & Co. Filmverleih KG .

His son is the cameraman Rüdiger Meichsner .
