The Eckelsbach is an approximately two kilometers long right and northern tributary of the Elmbach in the Hessian Main-Kinzig district .

The Eckelsbach rises at an altitude of about 421  m above sea level. NHN in the Bergwinkel east of the hamlet of Drasenberg, which belongs to the Schlüchtern district of Klosterhöfe . Its source lies in a meadow on the northwest slope of the Hobertskopf .

At first it flows, accompanied by wood, in a west-southwest direction through grassland the corridor Auf dem Drasenberg . He then turns south and then enters the 25.39 hectare Hundsgraben nature reserve near Elm . It now runs in the nature reserve at the eastern foot of the Drasenberg through mixed forest, then crosses under the tracks of the Kinzig Valley Railway and then flows through the fields and meadows of the Eckelsgrund corridor .

It finally flows into the Schlüchtern district of Elm at an altitude of about 233  m above sea level. NHN from the right into the Elmbach approaching from the northeast .

Its approximately 2 km long run ends about 188 meters below its source, so it has an average bed gradient of about 94 ‰.
