Eckhard Herrmann (born July 24, 1949 in Finowfurt ) is a German artist and metal sculptor .

Life

Eckhard Herrmann learned the trade of mechanical fitter. From 1969 to 1974 he studied metal design at the college for industrial design in Halle, Burg Giebichenstein and graduated with a diploma. Since 1974 he has been working as a freelance artist in Eberswalde .

He mainly makes sculptures , sculptures and models as well as metal pictures from various materials, preferably copper , stainless steel, brass , steel, aluminum , natural stone and enamel . Herrmann specializes in architecture-related art both indoors and outdoors.

His studio is located in the Eberswalde family garden , in the former sheet metal house. Many of his sculptures adorn the cityscape of Eberswalde, for example in front of the Goethe secondary school, the hospital, the savings bank or in the family garden. Other sculptures by him can be found in the Havellandklinik Nauen , the Asklepios Klinik Birkenwerder , in Frankfurt (Oder) - Neuberesinchen , in Eisenhüttenstadt and in Hanau . The sculpture in Hanau was stolen in 2007 but handed over again as a duplicate on September 15, 2008. In 2013, a group of sculptures with three Nordic goddesses of fate was unveiled in Althüttendorf . In 2014 Herrmann was commissioned to erect a monument in Anklam in honor of Otto Lilienthal and Gustav Lilienthal . He created a four-meter-high column of copper on which a two-meter-high figure stands.
