The Edelbach is a 2.3 km long left and southeastern tributary of the Nidda in the Wetterau .

course
The Edelbach rises southeast of Bad Vilbel at an altitude of about 163 m above sea level. NHN .
It flows northwest through grassland, then runs between the eastern edge of Bad Vilbel and the vineyard and finally flows into Bad Vilbel underground at an altitude of about 111 m above sea level. NHN from the left into the Nidda.
Its approximately 2.3 km long run ends about 52 meters below its source, so it has a mean bed gradient of about 23 ‰.
Catchment area
The catchment area of the Edelbach lies in the Bergen Ridge , a part of the Wetterau natural area, and is drained to the North Sea via the Nidda, Main and Rhine rivers.
It borders
- in the east to that of the Nidda tributary Mühlbach
- in the southeast to that of the Feldbach , a tributary of the Nidder , which flows into the Nidda
- in the south to that of the Main tributary Riedgraben as well
- to the west of the Landgraben of the Nidda river .
The highest point is the vineyard at 157.2 m .
Its catchment area is wooded on the left side of the upper course and the settlement area of Bad Vilbel is on the left on the lower course. On its right-hand side, arable land dominates outside and grassland in the floodplain area.
