Edgar Martini

Heinrich Edgar Martini (born May 26, 1871 in Sohland (Rothstein) , † September 7, 1932 in Prague ) was a German classical philologist .

From 1892 to 1895 Martini studied Classical Philology and Classical Archeology in Leipzig and Bonn . In 1896 he received his doctorate in Leipzig, in 1899 he completed his habilitation in Leipzig, where he worked as a private lecturer from 1899 to 1903, from 1903 to 1907 he was a non-scheduled associate professor in Leipzig, and from 1907 to 1922 a scheduled associate professor. From 1922 until his death he was a full professor of classical philology at the University of Prague .
