history
The Hausruckviertel constituency was created with Law No. 29 of March 18, 1925 as part of the amendment of the state election regulations of March 18, 1919. By law, the constituency was formed from the judicial districts of Eferding , Frankenmarkt , Grieskirchen , Haag am Hausruck , Lambach , Mondsee , Peuerbach , Schwanenstadt , Vöcklabruck and Wels , with Wels being the seat of the electoral authority. While the state election regulations of 1919 still provided for eight constituencies, the number of constituencies was reduced to four with the change in the law in 1925. The constituency of Hausruckviertel emerged from the former constituency of Wels (constituency 6) and parts of the former constituency of Schärding (constituency 5). In 1949 the area of the constituency was finally equated with constituency 14 of the National Council electoral code, which, however, included the same judicial districts. With the O. Ö. Landtag election amendment in 1967, the area of the constituency was finally equated with the political districts of Eferding, Grieskirchen, Vöcklabruck, Wels-Land and the Wels city.
