occupation

Ediths Glocken - Der Film is a German comedy by and with the travesty artists Ades Zabel and Biggy van Blond , which was released in German cinemas on November 24, 2016.

action

Christmas is coming soon. The Hartz VIII -Empfängerin Edith Schroeder and her two friends Brigitte and Jutta have no desire to, as every year on Christmas Eve . Biggy is the owner of a leggings boutique and Jutta is a transvestite and a bar owner. Since none of them have neither a family nor children, the festival means more of a lonely event for them. This year, however, the three of them do not want to sink into self-pity, but rather celebrate together at Edith's, really with roast goose, wine and, above all, gifts. So Edith and Biggy go out looking at Karstadt for a nice vibrator for Jutta. The department store detective catches the two of them stealing and he shamelessly exploits the situation. At least they manage to get to the special Christmas area, where they look for bells for Edith. And then the plumber has to come to pull a stud out of Edith's clogged drainpipe. The anticipation for the upcoming Christmas dinner almost seems to be gone.

production

The film is an adaptation of Ades Zabel's comedy theater series When Edith's Bells Ring , which was shown at the BKA Theater in Berlin and in which he himself played Edith Schröder, a crazy Neukölln artist. The film was financed , among other things, by a crowdfunding campaign . In addition to Zabel in the lead role, Biggy van Blond , Nicolai Tegeler , Bob Schneider and Stefan Kuschner can be seen in the film, with whom Zabel also appeared on stage at the BKA Theater.

The shooting took place in Berlin . The scene in the film, in which Edith and Biggy inspect a wide range of dildos in search of a vibrator, was filmed in the Brunos bookshop on Nollendorfplatz . Ades Zabel explained that although a Karstadt branch manager he knew had allowed the shooting to take place in the premises there, the management had objected.

The film was realized with a budget of 16,000 euros, produced by Nicolai Tegeler and Alexander Kiersch with their production company Colafilm, and is distributed by Edition Salzgeber . The film was released in selected cinemas on November 24, 2016.

reception

Age rating

In Germany the film is FSK 12. The reason for the release states: “The film is told in a calm, linear and chamber play style , it plays with exaggerated clichés. The often sexualized, crude use of language as well as individual sexual allusions on the pictorial level can irritate children under the age of 12, but these are used discreetly and have little relevance to reality, so that 12-year-olds can process them without any problems.
