Edmund Diehl

Edmund Diehl (born July 8, 1857 in Gau-Odernheim ; † August 22, 1923 ibid) was a Hessian politician ( NLP ) and a former member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Edmund Diehl was the son of Peter Jacob Diehl and his wife Barbara nee Weber. He was married to Katharina nee Keller and was of a Catholic denomination. His son Edmund Philipp Diehl (1894–1955) later became a member of the Landtag in the Landtag of the People's State of Hesse .

education and profession

Edmund Diehl was a farmer in Gau-Odernheim. He was a member of the district committee of the agricultural association. In 1890 he was co-founder and director of the savings and loan fund.

politics

From 1898 he was mayor of Gau-Odernheim. He had already been an alderman there before. He belonged to the district council , the district committee and the district school commission Alzey.

In the 31st to 35th electoral term (1899-1914) he was a member of the second chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. In the estates he represented the constituency Rheinhessen 2 / Alzey . After his departure, Eugen Calman replaced him in the state parliament.
