Eduard Lehne

Eduard August Lehne (born May 4, 1805 in Mainz , † August 13, 1857 in Büdesheim ) was a Hessian judge and politician and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Eduard Lehne was the son of Friedrich Lehne and his wife Josephine Katharina Alberica, née Burkard. Lehne, who was of Catholic faith, married Charlotte Christina nee Reichard on April 8, 1833 . After his wife's death on November 13, 1846, he married her second sister, Maria.

From 1824 Lehne studied law at the University of Gießen and graduated with a doctorate. jur. from. In 1832 he became a lawyer in Mainz and from 1836 a lawyer at the Alzey District Court . At this court he became a supplementary judge in 1840 and a district judge in Mainz in 1850.

From 1847 to 1856 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was initially elected for the constituency of the city of Worms , then electoral district Rheinhessen 8 / Alzey and finally electoral district Rheinhessen 11 / Osthofen. In 1848 he was a member of the Fifties Committee and the Frankfurt Pre-Parliament and in 1850 he was the general defender of the protagonists of the '48 revolution in the Hessian treason trial .
