Wilhelm Joseph Valckenberg (born March 1, 1790 in Worms ; † January 2, 1847 there ) was a Hessian wholesaler, politician and member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Wilhelm Valckenberg was the son of the mayor of Worms Peter Joseph Valckenberg and his wife Juliane Margarethe, née Vierling. Valckenberg, Roman Catholic , was a wine merchant and head of the "Peter Joseph Valckenberg" company in Worms. He married Anna Maria, née Euler , on May 30, 1811 in Worms (born November 10, 1793 in Mainz, † July 16, 1825 there), daughter of the rentier Franz Euler and Susanna Krieger from Speyer. The common children were:

  • Franz Peter Joseph Valckenberg (1812–1854), wine merchant, head of the “Peter Joseph Valckenberg” company in Worms, married in 1840 to his cousin Maria Urbach, 1819–1852. His son Wilhelm Josef Dieudonné Valckenberg (1844–1914) was also a member of the Hessian state parliament.
  • Susanna Anna Hundhausen, b. Valckenberg (1813–1895), married Ludwig Hundhausen (1804–1845), Ghz. Hess. Notary in Gau-Algesheim
  • Franz Valckenberg (1820–1886), wine merchant, head of the “Peter Joseph Valckenberg” company in Worms, married in 1856 Jacobine König, 1830–1910, from Cologne
  • Marie Kroll, b. Valckenberg (1822–1895), married Carl * Friedrich Kroll, 1815–1866 (fallen), Ghz. Hess. Major and sub-chief of the General Staff of the Ghz. Hess. division
  • Friedrich Wilhelm Valckenberg (1825–1887), wine merchant, head of the “Peter Joseph Valckenberg” company in Worms, married in 1858 to his cousin Anna Reinhart, 1839–1915

Career

Wilhelm Valckenberg was a wine merchant and head of the "Peter Joseph Valckenberg" company in Worms, which cultivates most of the vineyard around the Church of Our Lady in Worms. Today 90% of the "Kirchenstück" vineyard belongs to the PJ Valckenberg winery , 13.3 hectares, as well as the cloister, chapter house and monastery garden. Wilhelm Valckenberg was a member of the Worms Masonic Lodge, the rebuilt Temple of Brotherly Love .

From 1841 to 1847 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse . He was elected for the constituency of the city of Worms .
