Cornelius Valckenberg

Cornelius Josef Valckenberg (born August 24, 1815 in Worms , † May 30, 1873 in Heppenheim ) was a German judge and politician and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Cornelius Valckenberg was the son of the wine wholesaler Friedrich Valckenberg (1788–1841) and his wife Barbara, née Heyl. Valckenberg belonged to the Roman Catholic Church and married Emmi nee Staedel (1827–1890).

Valckenberg studied law and became a Dr. jur. PhD. In 1848 he became a substitute for the state procurator at the district court of Alzey and later that year in Mainz. In 1859 he became a district judge at the Mainz district court and in 1862 a state procurator at the Alzey district court. In 1865 he was promoted to substitute for General State Prosecutor at the Mainz Higher Court and retired in 1868.

From 1859 to 1862 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of the city of Worms .
