Johann Jakob Parcus

Johann Jakob Parcus (born August 23, 1790 in Grünstadt ; † January 21, 1854 in Mainz ) was a Hessian lawyer and politician and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Johann Jakob Parcus was the son of the lawyer and landowner Karl Christian Parcus (1761–1819) and his wife Rosina, née Jacobi (1755–1844). Parcus, who was Protestant, married in Mainz on October 10, 1813 and in Worms on May 6, 1814, Louise Katharina Adelaide, born Köler (born December 30, 1793 in Wörrstadt; † September 19, 1875 in Darmstadt), the daughter of Professor and botanist Georg Ludwig Koeler (1764–1807) and his wife Elisabeth Friederike née Amelung (1773–1832) from Grünenplan. The following children were born from the marriage:

  • Carl Friedrich Parcus (1815–1881), district councilor in Bingen
  • Ludwig August Parcus (1819–1875), banker and entrepreneur (his son Carl Parcus (1849–1923) became a banker and member of the 1st Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse)
  • Rosalie Elise Parcus (1822-1912)
  • Felix Arthur Parcus (1823-1887)
  • Julius Friedrich Parcus (1825–1887), goes to New York, married to Josefine Schaaf, from Wiesbaden
  • Marie Francisca Pauline Louise Werner, b. Parcus (1828–1903), married in Mainz January 1850 to Joseph Werner (1815–1859)

Johann Jakob Parcus studied law and became Procurator General in Mainz in 1836. In 1853 he was retired.

From 1826 to 1830 and again from 1835 to 1841 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was first elected for the constituency Rheinhessen 1 / Alzey and then for the constituency of the city of Worms. From 1826 to 1830 he was Vice President of the Chamber.
