Eugene Calman

Eugen David Calman (born September 1, 1861 in Mainz , † January 7, 1923 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a Hessian politician ( NLP ) and a former member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Eugen Calman was a son of the wine merchant Maximilian Calman and his wife Rosalie, née Niederwiesen. Calman, who was a Protestant, married his wife Amalia Gertrude Louise Charlotte, née Römer (1868–1944), in Alzey on April 16, 1892 .

Eugen Calman studied at the Universities of Leipzig, Heidelberg and casting law and was 1882 Akzessist the District Court Mainz . He became a court assessor in 1886 and then worked as a lawyer in Alzei, where he later became a notary . From 1914 to 1914 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected to succeed Edmund Diehl for the constituency Rheinhessen 2 / Alzey .
